Delete your SoftKarrot account

What this page is

This page explains how to delete your account and personal data from SoftKarrot — the Android app com.softkarrot.app and the workspace at softkarrot.com, both operated by SoftKarrot.

SoftKarrot accounts are invite-only and are created by an administrator of your organisation. You can still delete your own account yourself, at any time.

Delete it in the app or on the web

1. Sign in to the SoftKarrot app, or to softkarrot.com.
2. Open Profile.
3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
4. Type DELETE to confirm.

Your data is removed straight away and you are signed out. There is no waiting period and it cannot be undone.

If you are your organisation’s only super admin, the app will ask you to make someone else a super admin first — otherwise nobody would be left who can manage the organisation’s users and projects.

If you can no longer sign in

Email softkarrot@gmail.com from the email address of the account, with the subject line Delete my account. We only act on a request sent from the account’s own address — anyone could send one on your behalf otherwise — and we reply to that address to confirm before deleting. Once confirmed, we delete the account within 30 days, usually within a few working days.

You can also ask the administrator of your organisation to remove your account.

What gets deleted

• Your sign-in account — you can no longer log in with it
• Your profile — name, email address, phone number, designation and profile photo
• Your project memberships and roles
• Your personal notes, bookmarks and calendar events
• Your notifications, notification settings and push notification tokens
• Your chat settings, starred messages, blocked list and conversation list
• Your membership of every chat conversation
• Your presence ("online" / "last seen") and saved workspace settings

All of it is erased permanently.

What is kept, and why

Some content belongs to your organisation’s projects rather than to you, and other people still depend on it. It is kept, but de-attributed— your name and email address are replaced with “Deleted user” wherever they appear as its author, owner, sender or assignee:

• Tickets, comments and task history you created or were assigned
• Documents, files and folders you added to a project
• Chat messages you sent to other people, including their attachments
• Credential-vault entries you created for a project, and the vault access audit log
• Reports you filed, or that others filed about your messages

Words you typed inside that content are not rewritten — if you wrote your phone number into a ticket, it stays in the ticket until someone edits it. Tickets assigned to you become unassigned. Encrypted database backups can hold deleted data for up to 35 days before they expire.
